He’s Not Welcome Here

So, that’s in Times Square. United Against Nuclear Iran knows that Ahmadinejad lives in Iran, right?

According to their non-partisan site that looks suspiciously similar to all those other non-partisan programs like Fulbright, Peace Corps, and other government fronts, United Against Nuclear Iran is “a program of the American Coalition Against Nuclear Iran, Inc…that is united in a commitment to prevent Iran from fulfilling its ambition to become a regional super-power possessing nuclear weapons.” I don’t really feel that is necessary for me to remind myself and the like 3 people who read this blog that the US is the only country to ever use nuclear weapons and that the US provides weapons to Israel.

Hold up, before you start writing some bullshit to me thinking that this means I support Iran having nuclear weapons. What I support is no one having nuclear weapons. Why the hell does anyone need them? It’s like a bunch of school children playing “got you last”.

I do appreciate UANI’s commitment to something they so strongly believe in. I also like that there is one Iranian guy on their board. You know, they don’t want you to think they are only white people. (Everyone else is white).  I do recommend checking out their site and looking at the current and passed advisers. There are some real winners involved.

Richard Holbrooke “has held senior positions at two leading Wall Street firms”. So, I should go to him for financial advice. Got it.

Dennis Ross “was U.S. point man on the peace process in both the George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations”. I wonder if it was his idea for Clinton to stop bombing Iraq during Ramadan. How kind.

Mark Wallace, the current president of UANI, “served in a variety of government, political and private sector posts.” This translates to: he knows how to lie.

There are more profiles filled with prestigious work. Clearly, they have a lot of work cut out for them. Why not get John Bolton involved, though? He has the best solution, bomb Iran.

In addition to the board, there are several organizations who work with UANI, such as Log Cabin Republicans, Progressive Iranian-American Committee, and Christian Leaders for a Nuclear-Free Iran.

I feel like I could spend days tearing apart the blatant bullshit on this site and the hypocrisy, but I do not have the time or the energy right now. And I get tired of folks not being able to see through the giant Big Brother staring down on them.
